Dr. Joseph A. Walz

Dr. Joseph Walz earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He graduated from the University with a 3.92 cumulative GPA. Dr. Walz then continued his education and attended the University of Connecticut of Dental Medicine from 1998-2001. He was awarded the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award, the Merit Award in Esthetic Dentistry and the Olmstead Prize in Geriatrics. In 2013 Dr. Walz completed his Implantology Fellowship with the Misch International Implant Institute. He feels privileged to have studied both surgical and prosthetic disciplines of implant therapy under the late, world-renowned Dr. Carl E. Misch.

Dr. Walz proceeds to further his education with the country’s leading dental education centers. He has studied at the Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Education, the Pikos Institute, and Dr. Allen’s Center for Advanced Dental Education. He continues to take courses in implant esthetics, implant dentistry, endodontics, and CEREC dentistry. Dr. Walz would be honored to personalize a treatment plan that meets your individual needs and desires. He is dedicated to making a plan that will ensure a beautiful smile and quality dental health for a lifetime. Dr. Walz does not think of dentistry as his occupation, but rather his passion.
Dr. Walz opened Dental Studio Associates in 2004. When not in the office, he and his wife Kristy, along with their two children Joseph and Alexandra reside in Southwick. On the weekends he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, fishing, working on home projects, cycling and running. Dr. Walz has completed three full distance Ironman triathlons.

Dr. Carly Walz

Dr. Carly Walz earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Westfield State University with a cumulative GPA of 3.99. She continued to advance her education at The University of New England College of Dental Medicine to achieve her Doctorate in Medical Dentistry. During her studies and clinical training, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. This prestigious award recognizes leadership, clinical excellence, and high ethical standards amongst the top students in the class. Dr. Walz was also awarded for excellence in Periodontics.
Dr. Carly Walz is an active member of the Massachusetts Dental Society and American Dental Association. She provides a wide array of care to both children and adults. During her free time, Dr. Walz enjoys, cooking, traveling, as well as spending time with her family.

Dr. Maria Home-Gomez

Dr. Maria Home-Gomez is a dedicated and compassionate associate dentist who earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. With a strong foundation in restorative dentistry, she is passionate about improving her patients’ oral health through personalized, evidence-based care.
Before dental school, Dr. Home-Gomez graduated summa cum laude from Saint Peter’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Her academic excellence and dedication to science laid the groundwork for her thoughtful, evidence-based approach to dentistry.
Dr. Home-Gomez believes in creating a comfortable and collaborative environment where patients feel empowered to take an active role in their dental care. Her approach emphasizes overall well-being, patient education, and a gentle touch that helps even the most anxious patients feel at ease.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD), and she remains committed to ongoing learning and service. Outside the office, Dr. Home-Gomez enjoys volunteering in her community and cherishing time with her family.
